David "Pete" Earl Hooper, age 56, of Stanley, passed away Monday, September 25, 2023, at Caromont Regional Medical Center.

He was born March 2, 1967, in Gaston County to the late Johnny Eugene Hooper and Brenda Barrett Whitaker. Pete was super smart when it came to technology. He knew how to manipulate computer programs and navigate through the tech world. He also had a passion for music. His greatest accomplishment was to be himself in a world that was constantly trying to make him into something else.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jonathan Hooper; and brother, Randy Hooper.

Survivors include his daughter, Alicia Nicole Hutchens and husband, Scotty; grandchildren, Nevaeh Branch, Preston Branch, Robert Ott, Caydence Hooper, and Shyanne Hooper; sisters, Sharon Cook and Sandi Moore; and brother, Donny Hooper.
