David Scott Fredell, Sr., age 62, of Bessemer City passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at Caromont Regional Medical Center.

He was born October 28, 1960 in Cleveland County to the late Herman Roosevelt and Mary Ruth Fleming Fredell. Scott was formerly employed with EMA Resources. He was an ordained minister and enjoyed sharing the love of Jesus with others. Scott also loved fishing, wrestling, and driving his tractor. He was a jokester who could light up every room he walked into.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a great grandson, Houston.

Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Tenza Cape Fredell; children, Amy Fredell, David Fredell, Jr. (Jennifer), Stacie Pack (Jonathan), Benjamin Propst (Elizabeth), and Melinda Hall (Brad); siblings, Sylvia Brazell (Archie) and Wayne Fredell (Dianne); brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Charles Cape, Toni Cape (Roger), and Tammy Cape (Ronnie); grandchildren, Marrisa, Alyssa, Cheyenne, Wyatt, Alexandria, Alexis, Troy, Piper, Hunter, Maddie, Christian, and Beth; niece and nephew, Steven Fredell, Courtney McDaniel, and Stephen McDonald; great niece and great nephew, Adrianna and Colton.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 4:00 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services with Rev. Kevin Whittington officiating. Burial will be private.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 2:30 to 3:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
