Ms. Deanna Anjanette Hopper, 41, of 13830 Firenza Circle Apt. 202 in Charlotte, NC departed this life on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Carolinas Medical Center in Pineville, NC.  She was born on February 21, 1971 in Cleveland County to Ocie Hopper and Carl Gaston, Sr.

Deanna attended Crest High School and was a member of Shoal Creek Baptist Church.  She later relocated to Charlotte and was employed with Northorp Grunman.  Deanna enjoyed being with her family and friends and will be remembered for her nice, friendly personality.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Cofford and Annie Hopper and her paternal grandparents, Joe and Hattie Gaston.

She is survived by her parents, Ocie Hopper and Carl Gaston, Sr. both of Shelby; a son, Shawn Mack, Jr. of Charlotte; a daughter, Monique Hopper also of Charlotte; three brothers, Carl Gaston, Jr. (Cierra) of Grover, NC, Tracy Gaston of Shelby and Brian Hopper of Greensboro, NC; one granddaughter, Chloe Bridges of Shelby; a special friend, Y’Keith Surratt of Charlotte and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 2, 2012 at 3:00 PM at Shoal Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Michael Isaac officiating.  Burial will take place at the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 3:00 PM at the church and at other times at the home of her father, 606 Oakley Street, Shelby.  Condolences can be expressed online at www.enloes.net.  Enloe Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
