Dennis Eugene Bowen, age 64, died Friday, January 11, 2019 at his home in Lawndale. Born August 13, 1954 he was the son of Eva Swafford McCombs of Shelby and the late Tommy Bowen. Dennis was in the U.S. Navy and served on the USS John F. Kennedy. He worked as a fixer Doran Textiles. He enjoyed playing his guitar and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

With his father, he was preceded in death by his wife Diane, and one son Keith Eugene Bowen.

In addition to his mother, Dennis is survived by one son Dennis "Shane" Bowen and wife Tiffany of Lawndale, sister, Sandra Waldrop and husband David of Lawndale, five grandchildren, Reeva Collier and husband Wayne of Shelby, Josh Bowen of Shelby, Abreanne Bowen of Shelby, Michael Bowen, of Lawndale and Dennis Bowen of Kings Mountain, as well as, three great-grandchildren, Jordan Galloway, Kayden Bowen and Isabella Collier and a very special aunt Mary Ann Woolley.

Funeral Service will be held 2 pm Wednesday, January, 16, 2019 in the Chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, with full military honors, with the Rev. Loyd Swafford officiating. The family will receive friends before the service from 1 pm until 2 pm.
