Dennis Riley Jr., 67, passed away on January 15, 2026, in Shelby, North Carolina. Born on June 12, 1958, in Union, South Carolina, Dennis moved to Shelby at a young age and was a lifelong resident.

Dennis was the beloved son of the late Dennis Riley Sr. and Ann Riley. He carried forward their legacy with quiet strength and deep devotion to those around him.

He is lovingly remembered by his daughter Megan Allison and her husband Matt; his granddaughter Riana Allison; his son Trey Riley and his wife Liz; and his granddaughters Kenzi Riley and Annabeth Riley. Dennis also leaves behind his sister Angie Riley Dorsey and her husband Tom and a very close special friend Ronda Rivere, who shared many memories with him.

A passionate sports enthusiast, Dennis especially cherished cheering on the Clemson Tigers. Whether it was game day excitement or everyday conversations, his enthusiasm for sports brought joy to those around him. At home, he found comfort in the companionship of his cat Bella, who was always by his side.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to be made to the American Heart Association. There will be a private memorial.
