Docia Sherrill Mauney, age 85, passed away Monday, March 4, 2024 at Wendover Hospice House of Cleveland County.

Docia was born May 9, 1938 in Bryson City, NC. She worked for A & E Mills of Mt. Holly where she retired after over 20 years. She is preceded in death by her parents Taylor Isaac Sherrill and Eliza Maude McClain and 8 siblings, as well as, her husband of over 30 years, Richard Mauney, Sr.

She attended Message of Love Church in Belmont, NC. She loved spending her time watching Wheel of Fortune and several other game shows.

She is survived by son Rick Mauney, daughters Lynn Huffstetler, Beverly Mauney, and her sister Rita Lee Sherrill. Also left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren Shaun, Thad, Jody, and Whitney.

The family will celebrate her life privately.
