Don Wilson, age 56, passed away Saturday, October 2, 2021. Born in Cleveland County on March 20, 1965, he was the son of Harriett Keever Wilson and the late Donald Paul Wilson, Sr.

Don graduated from Shelby High School in 1983 and attended Gaston College where he studied Land Surveying. He then went on to work alongside his father in the family business, Wilson Engineering and Surveying. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Shelby, volunteered his time with the Golden Girls' softball team, Shelby City Park U18 fastpitch teams, and Wilson softball team coached by his father. Don enjoyed spending time reading, listening to music, the outdoors, and fixing things around the house.

In addition to his mother Harriett, Don is survived by his sister Judith Wilson Freeman and her husband Terry. One son Steaphan Paul Wilson and wife Brittany, four Grandchildren Zachary, Keleigh, Avery, and Kendyl. Don is also survived by his nephew and Gage.

Funeral Service will be held 5:00pm Saturday October 9, 2021 at the Chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory with Dr. Robert Canoy officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 4:00pm - 5:00pm.
