Donald "Don" Ray Carpenter, 61, of Lawndale, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 6, 2021 at Atrium Health - Cleveland, Shelby.

Born in Cleveland County, on June 18, 1959, he was the son of the late Max Donald Carpenter and Mary Lorene Black Carpenter. He was employed with Cleveland County Schools Transportation Department for forty-two years and also ran Carp's Lawn Care Service for over twenty-seven years. Don was also an active member of Carpenters Grove Baptist Church and served on the Kitchen Committee.

Don was loved by so many people. He was strong, hardworking, Christian man who loved his family unconditionally!

He is survived by his wife of twenty-six years, Amy Barrett Carpenter; son, Jacob Carpenter and girlfriend, Cassie Isreal of Lawndale; two daughters, Casey Carpenter Snellings and husband, Adam and Charlcy Carpenter and boyfriend, Kyle Carroll all of Lawndale; three grandchildren, Leila Rae Snellings, Lane Jett Snellings, and Lynlee Scott Snellings; sister, Shawn Carpenter McNeary and husband, Paul of Kings Mountain; niece Alyssa McNeary; nephew, Wilson McNeary; and so many friends who he loved to talk gardening, fishing and life with. He never met a stranger.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.

A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at 11:00 am at Carpenter's Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Rusty Stroupe and Rev. Doug Pruitt officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the Carpenter's Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
