Donald Hershel Hamrick, known as Hershel to his friends and family, age 89 passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, May 30, 2025 in Gastonia, NC.

Hershel was born on August 18, 1935 in Cleveland County North Carolina and was the son of the late Maynard and Madge Hamrick. He was the brother to Noris, Dale, Charles and Larry and his sister Doris Dedmon, all of whom preceded him in death.

Hershel is survived by his son, Michael Hamrick; three daughters, Donna Towery, Sharon Hamrick and Amanda Branch; one sister, Carolyn Greene and one grandchild, Julie Stephens.

He retired as Regional Plant Manager at Pharr Yarns where he was employed for over 40 years. He enjoyed baseball and loved working in his yard.

The family wishes to thank Via Hospice in Lincolnton for their love and compassionate care of Hershel.

Services are private at this time with a celebration of life at a later date.
