Donald Melton

Donald Melton, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, entered Heaven on October 1 8, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on March 14, 1941, Donald lived a life overflowing with love, laughter, and faith.
For 62 years, Donald served his community as a skilled barber. His barbershop was more than a place for a haircut -- it was a gathering spot filled with stories and laughter. His humor, kindness, and gift for conversation touched everyone who sat in his chair.
He also faithfully served on the Cleveland County Water Board for 20 years and never missed a meeting until last week -- a true testament to his commitment and integrity.
Donald cherished his family deeply and was their biggest supporter. He loved sports, especially watching his children and grandchildren play. Whether in the stands or on the sidelines, he could always be found cheering them on with pride and joy.
Above all, Donald loved the Lord. His faith guided every step of his journey and shaped the way he lived -- with gratitude, humility, and grace. He taught others by example to trust in God's goodness and to find joy in each day.
Donald is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Melton; his daughter Kim McKee and her husband Ron McKee; his daughter-in-law Kerri Melton; and his stepdaughter Tracy Queen. He was the proud grandfather of Gray Burn and his wife Elizabeth Burn, Maddy McKee, Brayson Melton, Landry Melton, Brock Melton, Chase McNeilly, and Peyton Queen. He is also survived by his brother Bob Melton.
He was preceded in death by his beloved son Chris Melton; his parents Romie and Dess Melton; and his brother Dennis Melton.
He will be remembered for his contagious humor, kind spirit, and steadfast faith. Though his earthly work is complete, his legacy of love, laughter, and devotion will continue to bless all who knew him. He will be dearly missed by all who loved him.
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith• . "--2 Timothy 4:7
