Mr. Donald Raymond McEntire, Sr. age 80 of Freeman Town Road passed away Saturday June 17, 2017 while being cared for at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. Raymond was a native of Rutherford County, a self-employed auto body repairman, a member of Shingle Hollow Congregational Holiness Church and veteran of the US Navy.

Left to cherish his memory are two sons - Donald (Darlene) McEntire, Jr. and Allan McEntire, one daughter Cindy Russell, ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren, three brothers - Jesse McEntire, Leonard McEntire and Ruben McEntire, two sisters - Annie Arrowood and Ronelle Tuttle. He was preceded in death by his parents Lee and Rosa Lee Hardin McEntire.

Funeral services will be held 2 PM Tuesday June 20, 2017 at Gilkey Church of God, 181 Oak Springs Road, Rutherfordton, NC 28139 with Rev. Chris Kennedy and Rev. Jack Crain officiating. Raymond will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in Piney Knob Baptist Church Cemetery, 1229 Piney Knob Road, Rutherfordton, NC 28139 with military honors provided by the Rutherford County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 PM Monday June 19, 2017 at Crowe's Mortuary 118 US Hwy 74A, Rutherfordton, NC 28139,
