Donnie Sue Bynum Thompson

Mrs. Donnie Sue Bynum Thompson departed this life for her eternal home on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Cleveland Pines Nursing Center in Shelby, NC. She was born on February 17, 1958 in Lincoln County, NC to the late Lester Bynum and the late Katherine Glover Bynum.

Donnie was a graduate of Burns High School and furthered her education at Cleveland Community College earning an Associate's degree. She was a member of New Ellis Chapel Baptist Church where she was known as the "Candy Lady".

Donnie was a warm spirited and good hearted person who would do anything she could for anyone. She saw all the good in people and "was the most wonderful wife in the world". She always loved her dogs.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her three brothers, Walter Glover, Benjamin Bynum and Larry Bynum and her mother-in-law, Betty Thompson.

She leaves to cherish her memory, husband, Donnie Thompson; her children, Tyrone Ross, Joshua Clark and Rita Williams; one grandson, Malik Ross; siblings, Corrine Camp, Johnnie Bynum, Maxine Bynum, Dorothy Bynum, Jake Bynum, Everette Bynum and Gloria Byrd (Ken); an aunt, Amanda Bynum; brothers-in-law, James Thompson, Howard Thompson, Terry Thompson; Jimmy Thompson (Yolanda), Danny Thompson (Yolanda) and Edward Walker (Michelle) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral service for Mrs. Thompson will be held on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at 2:00 PM at S.T. Enloe Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until 2:00 PM on Sunday at the chapel. Masks are required. Condolences can be expressed online at www.enloemortuary.com.
