Doris Jean Goode Ruppe, 86, of Shelby, passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at Peak Resources, Shelby.
Born in Cleveland County, NC on January 8, 1935, she was the daughter of the late James Wesley Goode and Bessie Pruett Goode. She was retired from Cleveland Memorial and Crawley Hospitals and was a member of Mulls Memorial Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Elliott Ruppe; a daughter, Kay Ruppe; a son, Donald R. Ruppe; a brother, Jim Goode and a sister, Lucille Butler.
Survivors include a son, Charles "Chuck" Ruppe and wife, Jaqueline of Shelby; sisters, Juanita Wallace of Cherryville, Shirley Fisher of Rocky Mount, Carolyn Kinney of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; five grandchildren, Rebekah Ruppe (Morgan Henderson) Patrick Ruppe (Veronique), Jason Ruppe (LeeAnn), Andrew Ruppe, Sharon Moses (Daniel) and several great-grandchildren
Mrs. Ruppe will lie-in-state on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.
A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Mull's Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery with Mr. Daniel Moses officiating.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, masks and social distancing will be required.
