Doris Jean Weidman Pierce, 88, of Shelby, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 7, 2025, surrounded by her beloved family.

Born on March 29, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Olive Weidman. Doris touched the lives of many with her kindness, compassion, and unwavering love for others.

A retired bank auditor, Doris spent much of her life giving back to her community. She was a devoted Girl Scout leader for many years, an active member of her church, and someone who always went out of her way to help others. Doris had a love for nature, collecting four-leaf clovers, and a deep affection for her family and friends, who were the heart of her world.

Doris is preceded in death by her husband, William R. Pierce; daughter, Susan Goins; grandson, Philip Grey Hammel; and two sisters, Carol Bridgewater and Lois Weidman.

She leaves behind her two children, daughter Sharon Hammel (John) and son William Pierce Jr. (Tanya); sister, Shirley Wittje; brother, Larry Weidman (Cathy); seven grandchildren, Sara Karner (Kevin), Candace Wortman (Zachary), Amy Vanderveer, Will Pierce, Olivia Pierce, Jessica Leone (Nick), and Benjamin Greene (Amanda); as well as numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Sunset Cemetery in Shelby.
