Doris Wilkes Crowe
SHELBY- Mrs. Doris Wilkes Crowe, 91, of 923 Thore Road, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2013 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. A native of Houston County, Georgia, she was born April 1, 1921, daughter of the late Sammuel Rueben and Sallie Langston Wilkes. She was a member of Flint Hill Baptist Church for 63 years.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, William James Crowe; four brothers, Fred, Roy, and Reubon Wilkes all of Georgia and Robert Wilkes of Shelby; one sister, Bertha Wilkes of Georgia; and her son-in-law, Larry J. Hamrick of Shelby.

SURVIVED: She is survived by two sons, James W. Crowe of the home and William David Crowe and wife Dottie of Rock Hill, SC; two daughters, Iris C. Beam and Husband Wayne E. and Patricia C. Hamrick all of Shelby; seven grandchildren, Jeff Beam, Russell Beam, Rocky Hamrick all of Shelby, Jonathan and Matthew Crowe of Matthews, NC, Michelle Hamrick Varner and husband Keith of Boiling Springs, and Jana Beam Burgess and husband Roy of Newton, NC; six great grandchildren, Savannah Bass of Concord, NC, Sara Beth Beam of Shelby, Kyndall Wells, Karsen Wells, Khandler Burgess and Korben Burgess of Newton, NC; one great great grandson, Riley Helms of Concord, NC, and several nieces and nephews.

SERVICES: A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Clay-Barnette Funeral Home of Shelby.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home of her daughter, Pat at 802 Poplar Springs Church Road, Shelby.

CLERGY: Rev. Shane Kirby and Rev. Keith Dixon

BURIAL: Burial will immediately follow at Cleveland Memorial Park

MEMORIALS: Memorial may be made to Flint Hill Baptist Church, 2207 Flint Hill Church Rd, Shelby, NC 28152
