Dorothy "Dot Dot" Hyde

Dorothy "Dot Dot" Hyde, 74, went to be with The Lord Friday, January 20, 2023 at Atrium Health Cleveland.

Born in Greenwood, SC, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Harold and Ruby Miller Brown. Everyone who knew Dot immediately loved her. She was one of the most kindhearted, loving and thoughtful people you would ever meet.

Dot was a Christian through and through. She loved God before anything else. She put her trust in Jesus and we know she is with Him today in Heaven.

Family meant everything to her. She loved her husband, Shannon so much. In her younger days, she waited for him to come back from the Army and looked forward to the next time she would see him while he was gone. She took care of him throughout the 52 years they were together and if you knew her, you knew how much she loved him. She loved her son, Jason and daughter in law, Jennifer. She ask if she could cook for them often and would even bring it to their house. She also loved her grandchildren. She would drop anything just to spend a few hours with them. She always wanted to take Shelby or Savannah shopping. Dot would spend the entire day just talking and laughing with them. She truly was one of a kind. She spent a lot of time in the last few years watching Kaydence, Brantley and Aries, her great grandchildren. They are so lucky to have been able to spend a few years with her.

Dot spent her days helping others. She would wake up early in the morning to go pick up her friends and take them to doctors appointments far away from her house, to then turn around and pick up another friend to take them for dinner. She enjoyed the company and never thought twice about doing anything for anyone.

Dot told her family they would understand why she wanted to spend so much time with them one day. And they do now. Not a day will go by that they don't think about her. She meant everything to her family and she will be greatly missed. Dot is in her final resting place with Jesus.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Doug and Benny Brown; and sister, Stella Baber. She is survived her loving husband of 52 years, Shannon Hyde of the home; son, Jason Hyde and wife Jennifer of Shelby; sister, Brenda Campbell of Bostic; granddaughters, Shelby Crump and husband James and Savannah Hyde; and great grandchildren, Kaydence, Brantley and Aries. Funeral services will be held 2:00pm, Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Flint Hill Baptist Church, with the Rev. Shane Kirby officiating. The family will receive friends 12:30-2:00pm, prior to the service, in the church. Burial will follow 2:00pm, Saturday, January 28, 2023 in Cleveland Memorial Park.

Funeral Arrangements are entrusted to Clay-Barnette Funeral Home & Aquamation Center.
