Dorothy Marie Gibson Smith, 69 of Shelby passed away on November 10, 2016 at
Peak Resources in Shelby.

She was born April 30, 1947 to the late Albert J.C. Gibson and Vada Mae
Reynolds Gibson. She was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church and
was a member of United Methodist Women.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry
Hoyle Smith and brother, Robert Gibson.

She is survived by two sons, Wayne Smith and wife Anita of Claremont and
Douglas Smith and wife Angela of Shelby; brother, Ralph Gibson of
Cherryville; four grandchildren, Baylen Smith, Isaac Smith and wife Cierra,
Valerie Smith and Adam Smith.

The family will receive friends Sunday 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM at Bethlehem United
Methodist Church.

The funeral will be Sunday at 2:30 PM at Bethlehem United Methodist Church
with Revs. Bill Taylor and Randi Godfrey officiating.

Burial will follow at St. Paul United Methodist Church Cemetery.
