Dorothy Tate, age 78, of Ellenboro, went home to with her Lord and Savior, Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.

Dorothy was born Tuesday, May 29, 1945 in Cleveland County to the late Carl Irvin and Annie Connor Irvin. She was a devoted homemaker who enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening. Dorothy was a strong-willed, determined and independent woman who loved the Lord with all of her heart. She was ready to meet the Lord. She was a member of Souls Harbor Church in Mooresboro.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Randall.

Survivors include her children, Brent Jenkins (Vicki Fish) of Ellenboro, Karen Jenkins of Ellenboro, Barbara Hutchins (Tina Gregory) of Clover, SC, Aster Henry Jenkins (Dawn) of Ellenboro and Danielle Jenkins of Ellenboro; a special son, Eddie Hutchins of Ellenboro; sister, Daisy William of Shelby; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted at 12:00 pm on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Chuck Poole officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
