Dorothy Wynn Carlton Kelley, age 100, of Forest City, passed away, Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.

Dorothy was born Saturday, February 3, 1923 in Hamilton County, Florida to the late Arthur Wynn and Hattie Meeks Wynn. She worked in Polk County, Florida for Nunn Brothers Fruit Processing Company and thirty years for the Polk County Public Schools food service division. Dorothy was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed reading, crocheting and was known for her excellent memory.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two husbands, James Carlton and Woodrow Kelley; sister, Bessie McElwain; brothers, George and Edgar Wynn and a granddaughter, Susan Michelle Fox.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Linda Walters; grandson, James Walters of Rutherfordton; great-grandchildren, Emily Walters, Jeremy Walters (Julie Carter), Shayla Heffner; great-great grandchildren, Phoebe and Emalee Walters.

A graveside service is being planned for Dorothy at the Oak Hill Burial Park in Lakeland, Florida.

Harrelson Funeral and Cremation Services has been entrusted with arrangements.
