Douglas H. Morrison, Sr.

It is with deep sadness to announce the death of a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who meant the world to all his family and close friends.

Douglas H. Morrison, Sr., 73, departed from us on October 31, 2023, at Atrium Health Cleveland. He was born in Springfield, Ohio on September 22, 1950 to the late Sonny Morrison and Lucille Clay.

Mr. Morrison was a bright, smart, intelligent man who loved being himself, whether you liked him or not, he was who he was. Douglas was a jokester who liked telling jokes and speaking what was on his mind at all times.

Dough has achieved so many achievements throughout his life. He was a certified locksmith for 27 years and this was the one job he loved the most doing. He was a computer wiz. He also loved riding his motorcycle until he couldn't ride anymore.

Doug is survived by his longtime wife/partner , Arlene F. McCormick. She has been by his side for 45 years until his death. He is also survived by his children Douglas H. Morrison, Jr. (Margie) of Springfield, Ohio and Sharon Morrison Getsinger (Joey) of Shelby, NC. He had three stepsons, David McCormick, James McCormic, and Paul McCormick. Doug was a grandpa of 13 grandchildren and a great grandpa to many; a best friend, Terry, who has been there for he and Arlene for the past nine years, and Kathy(ex-daughter in law) who has been part of his life for many years.

There will be a memorial gathering on November 18 at 2 pm at Shelby City Park.
