Doyle Edward Hatfield 83, entered his eternal home Friday, March 2, 2018 following complications from a stroke. Doyle was born June 3, 1934 to the late Robert Nathan Hatfield and Hattie Hazel Evans Hatfield. Also preceded in death were his brothers David, Joe, Kenneth and sisters Jean, Louise, Bobbie Sue.

Doyle and June met at Moody Bible Institute and married June 18, 1966. He graduated June 1968 and later earned his doctorate from Bethany Divinity College

and Seminary. During his years of pastoral ministry, he served churches in Michigan, South Carolina, and Illinois. In 1999 they came to Shelby to retire.

Left to remember his earthly walk are his wife of 51 years, June Marie, son, John Laughing Hawk, daughter, Kathryn Marie Elgin (Mike). Also grandson Taliesin

Phoenix Boghiu, and granddaughters Alexandria Elgin Joyner (Brady), Emily Marie and Hannah Lee Elgin, and Elyrika Jo Sky Hawk. He will be lovingly

remembered by many cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Pleasant City Church (formerly Putnam), 1146 County Home Road, Shelby, NC, with a Celebration of Life Service following at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Bryan Glisson and Rev. Gary Marburger.
