He told the story of how Dr. Graham began his ministry in a basement church in 1944, just outside Chicago. He was asked to fill in for a radio preacher and this began a phenomenal career of winning souls to Christ. His preaching aided by the musical talent of George Beverly Shay and Cliff Barrows spread the Gospel to millions throughout the world.
Dr. Bruce made a comparison of how a painting of the mountains in winter is grey and bleak, however when the artist puts a light in the cabin window the painting becomes warm and welcomes the eye. Likewise, Jesus brought light to the souls of men, to show the way. Dr. Bruce encouraged the group to support the Lottie Moon Missions offering.
This International Missions Board offering sponsors missionaries who bring the light of Christ to unreached people groups.
