Dwight Edwin Cook
Dwight Edwin Cook, 62 of Shelby, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at Atrium Health - Cleveland.
Born in Walton County, Florida on April 5, 1959, he was the son of Mary Alice Dauphin Cook and the late Thomas Edwin Cook.
Dwight was employed with Baxter Incorporated and was a former Scout Master. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and outdoorsman. Dwight also loved doing mission work especially in Guatemala.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughter, Brandy Nuzum and husband, Rick of Blacksburg; two sons, Isaac Cook and wife, Emilee of Spartanburg, SC and Andrew Cook of Shelby; wife, Christy Lail Cook; three grandchildren, Erin Elmore, Kaylyn Elmore and Isabella McDaniel; a sister, Anita Cook Weaver and husband, Jimmy of Shelby and two brothers, Kenny Cook and wife, Judy of Oak Island and Michael Cook and wife, Lynda of Southport.
The family will receive friends on Friday, October 8, 2021 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 8, 2021 at 3:00 pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Lovelace officiating.
The burial will follow the service in the Rose Hill Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Boy Scout Troop 101, 120 N. Lafayette Street, Shelby, NC 28150.
