Earl Alfred Roberts, Jr., 63, passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Caromont Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born to the late Earl Roberts, Sr. and Frances Medlock Roberts on July 5, 1954. He is also predeceased by his wife, Cynthia Roberts.

Earl leaves behind to cherish his memories his four daughters, Dusty Blackburn (Buddy Gibson) of Gastonia, Patty Hudspeth (Billy) of Gastonia, Amy Blackburn (Eric Hooper) of Gastonia and Tessa Roberts (Roger Hart) of Gastonia; fifteen grandchildren, Erica Wade, Jessica Gibson, TJ Wade, Christa Wade, Cheyenne Roseberry (Daniel), Nicole Wright (Daniel), Trinity Hudspeth, Kyndra Gilleeny (Ryan), Lasha Chapman, Mason Shehan, Shane Blackburn, Haley Sosebee (Tyler), Kylie Hooper, Madison Roberts and Cinthea Roberts; twelve great-grandchildren, Aiden Tester, Aubri Wade, Mason Wade, Lesa Coffey, Ethan Tester, Christopher Jacobs, Jeremiah Jacobs, Sterling Bowen, Drake Wright, Riley Wright, Bryce Hardison and Riley Kenyon; two brothers, Butch Roberts (late Mary) of Maggie Valley, NC and Gene Roberts (Kay) of Clover, SC; one sister, Juanita Thompson (James) of Kings Mtn., NC; a special niece, Sherry Roberts, who he loved dearly and who his daughters love like one of them.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm on Monday, January 1, 2018 at Benson Funeral Home, 101 Oak Grove Street, Mt. Holly, NC 28120. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
