Earl Edgar Cook, 78, of Susan Road, Casar, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2023 at his residence.

Born in Cleveland County on November 23, 1944, he was the son of the late Summie Edgar Cook and Ellen Frances Williams Cook. Mr. Cook was retired from PPG Industries and was a member of Morris Memorial Baptist Church. He also served in the US Army during the Vietnam Era.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Arnold Cook and a sister, Mabellean Simpson.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Ruby Chapman Cook; two sons, Jeffrey Cook and Cindy of Knoxville, TN and Jarrett Cook and Nicki of Casar; two brothers, David Cook and Jimmy Cook both of Casar; three sisters, Carolyn Shoemaker of Statesville, Joyce Walker of Gastonia and Clara McEntire of Shelby and six grandchildren, Lane, Cole, Hunter, Savannah, Holden and Stormy Cook.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at 2:00pm at Morris Memorial Baptist Church with Dr. Chris Emory officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the Morris Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery.
