Earl J Harris

Ellenboro- Earl J Harris, 81, passed away with his loved ones around him on December 16, 2018. He was the son of the late Rev. L.B. Harris and Ocie McCraw Harris.

His passion for 35 years was his grand-kids and his family. Earl loved going to the trade lot and his hobbies were refurbishing toy peddle cars, tractors and airplanes. He was an avid New York Yankee's fan and lived for baseball season.

Besides his parents Earl is preceded in death by six brothers BJ, Paul, Ernest, Frank, his twin Sherril and Herbert; five sisters Mary Jo, Jeanette, Kathleen, Lucille and Francis; two grandchildren Cheyenne "Dump" Toney and Phillip Warren Harris.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 62 years Janie Blanton Harris and three sons Larry Earl Harris, Sr. and wife Candy, Phillip Lee Harris and wife Linda, Thomas Warren Harris and fiancé Lisa Irvin and daughter-in-law Lisa Harris; seven grandchildren Lana Houck, Lara Deatrick, Lee Harris, CJ Toney, Brook Harris, TJ Harris and Travis McMurry; nine great-grandchildren Bryson, Brianna and Cayden Houck, Emma, Kayla, Joanna and Ellanora Deatrick, Kalynn and TT McMurry. A special sister-in-law and caregiver Dolly Lowery and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as special extended family Tripp, Nikki, Josh, Joey, Mandy, Brandie and Cierra. Plus, a loyal and faithful fur baby Little Bit.

The family would like to give much appreciation and thanks to caregivers: Belinda, Carol, Sandy, Amanda, Bev, Tawian and others. Also, a thank you to the staff of Hospice of the Carolina Foothills for the excellent care.

Services will be 3:00pm Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Campfield Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Owen Duncan officiating the service. A visitation will be held from 2-3pm prior to the service.

He will be laid to rest at Campfield Memorial Baptist Church cemetery following the service.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Campfield Memorial Baptist Church Building Fund 369 Campfield Church Road, Ellenboro, NC 28040 and Hospice of the Carolina Foothills PO Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043.
