Eddie Alfred Blankenship, 77, of Shelby, passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at his home .

Born in McDowell County, on April 21st, 1946 , he was the son of the late Eliga Alfred Blankenship and Belle Walker Blankenship. He was the owner and operator of Double Value Discount for thirty two years. He was also a member and deacon of Westwood Heights Baptist Church. Mr. Blankenship also served in the US Airforce during the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his wife of thirty four years, Lisa Weaver Blankenship; a son Todd Blankenship and wife Wendy of Belwood; a sister, Audrey Cox and husband Jim of Athens, GA; mother-in-law, Charlene Weaver of Shelby; brother-in-law Keith Weaver and wife Kelly of Polkville; three grandchildren, Randy, Aidan, and Emma; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday form 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home, Fallston.

The funeral service will be held on Sunday at 3:00 PM at Westwood Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. David Costner, Rev. David Rabb and Rev. Chris Masters.

The burial will follow the service in the Polkville Baptist Church Cemetery.
