SHELBY - Edith Inez Allen, 71, passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at Cleveland Pines where she had resided since 2014. She is predeceased by her parents, Clyde W. and Inez Lingerfelt Goins; granddaughter, Sarah Ann Allen; grandparents, Keiver Shufford Lingerfelt and Minnie Vernie Lingerfelt, and Lee and Jane Goins.

Edith leaves behind to cherish her memories her husband, Joseph E. Allen of the home; children, Robert E. Allen of the home and Sue Ann Allen (Robert) of Madison, AL; grandchildren, James Larken Allen of the home, Jordan Noah Weidle of the home, Sophie Ann Allen of Madison, AL, siblings, Jimmy Leon Lingerfelt and wife Wanda Isenhour Lingerfelt of Newton, William Goins and wife, Barbara of Lincolnton, Phillip Goins of Bessemer City, NC, Andy Goins and wife, Donna of Bessemer City, NC, Wanda Goins Morrow of Clover, SC, Henrietta Ann Goins Hill and husband, Charlie of Clover, SC and Wilma Goins Watts of Bessemer City, NC; special niece, Kellie Lingerfelt Morrison; special grand nephews, Brandon and Dylan Morrison of Newton.

She worked in Housekeeping for most of her life. She enjoyed being around people especially her family and friends. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
