Edmundo Zuniga, age 61, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at home with his family by his side. Born in Bogota, Colombia on June 20, 1957, he was the son of the late Edmundo and Idaly Lopez Zuniga. He came to the United States in 1982 and moved to Kings Mountain with his wife and children in 2007. He was a loving husband and father, a dear friend to many, a good story-teller, and had a wonderful sense of humor. Edmundo was an avid soccer fan, always listened to the Allman Brothers, and had a sweet tooth that only cheesecake could satisfy. He worked in aviation for nearly 30 years, working at Curtiss-Wright as a process engineer for 12 of those years. Edmundo was dedicated to his Home Church family. In addition to his parents, Edmundo is preceded in death by a sister, Claudia Zuniga and a brother, Juan Carlos Zuniga.

Edmundo is survived by his wife of 29 years, Barbara Laurich Zuniga; a son, Luis Zuniga Kings Mountain; a daughter, Natasha Zuniga of Kings Mountain and fiancé Brendan Vickers of Hickory; a brother, Armando Zuniga of Bogota Colombia; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 29, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory with Tom Ensley officiating. The family will receive friends an hour before the service from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm.
