Edward "Ed" M. Minor Jr. of Shelby age 72, passed away on Thursday November 8, 2012 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Ed was born in Augusta Ga. on June10, 1940 to the late Malcolm and Becky Cloud Minor. He married the love of his life, Mary Ann Hogan Minor on August 15, 1965. Ed was employed as a salesman with Clyde A. Short Co. Prior to his passing he enjoyed flying, motorcycles, and traveling. He had a special passion for music/singing and a voice that touched so many lives. Ed was very active with Relay for Life and dedicated many years serving on the Executive Committee along with family and dear friends. He was a loving Christian, son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to so many. Spending time with his family and witnessing to others were his greatest passions. In addition to his parents, Ed is preceded in death by two grandchildren; Brett and Brady Green.

Ed is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Mary Ann; a daughter Michelle and fiancée Jay Partin, Jr. of Shelby; a son, Michael and wife Michelle of Harrisburg; five beautiful grandchildren, Benjamin Green, Gavin, Grant, Ansley, and Eliza Minor; two brothers, Wayne Minor of McRae Ga. and Neal Minor of Eastman Ga. and a multitude of dear friends.

A Celebration of life will be held on Saturday November 10, 2012 at 4:00 pm in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Tench officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:30 pm until 4:00 pm in the sanctuary before the service.
