Edward L. "Butch" Raines, 77, passed away on Friday, June 18, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born in Cleveland County to the late George W. and Ruth Morris Raines. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Raines; God-daughter, Carrie Poteat.

He is survived by his wife, Jane McMurray Raines; children, Scott Raines of Santee, SC, Shane Raines of Boiling Springs, NC, Lynn Todd and husband Dewey Oaks of Grover, NC and Leah Oaks of the home; sisters, Sue Raines Strickland and husband Carl of Raleigh, NC; Martha "Mott" Raines Myers and husband Bob of Kings Mountain, NC; sister-in-law, Janice Raines of Fallston, NC; three grandsons, six granddaughters and eleven great-grandchildren.

"Butch" retired from Celanese and was a Volunteer Fire Fighter at Bethlehem VFD, King Mountain, NC, active 1970's and early 1980's, Grover VFD, Grover, NC, active mid-late 1980's and 1990's, still an inactive member.

Services will be held at the home, 910 Blalock Drive, Kings Mountain, NC 28086, on Sunday, June 20, 2021 with Rev. Bob Black officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service.
