Edwin Earl Hamlet
MOORESBORO - Edwin Earl Hamlet, 83, of Race Path Church Road, Mooresboro, died on Friday, March 22, 2013 at SECU Hospice House of Rutherford County. A native of Kentucky, he was born on January 21, 1930, a son of the late Edwin H. and Rena Halliman Hamlet. He was a truck driver and a U.S. Navy Veteran. He served as Petty Officer 3rd Class on the USS Collett FT3. Mr. Hamlet also loved Nascar and going to flea markets.
 
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Jean Parker Hamlet; three brothers, John, Albert, and James Hamlet; two sisters, Dot and Matilda Hamlet. He is survived by his sons, Michael Mayer and wife Lynn of Greenville, Marvin Hamlet and wife Lori of Alabama, Ronald Johnson of Lake Lure, Richard Hamlet and wife Sharon of Greenville; his daughters, Sharon Morrison and husband Jon of Mooresboro, Joanne Mode and husband Terry of Shiloh, Linda Ivoinelli of Arizona, and Karen Packer and husband Dickie of Mooresboro; twenty-one grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren.
 
Funeral services will be held at 3:30pm on Sunday, March 24, 2013 at the A.C. McKinney Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Harold Holcombe officiating. Burial will follow at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00pm-3:30pm at McKinney-Landreth & Carroll Funeral and Cremation Service.
