Elizabeth Lattimore Dedmond

Elizabeth Lattimore Dedmond, 89, passed away Thursday September 20, 2018 in
Cherryville.

Born March 20, 1929 in Lawndale, she was a daughter of the late William
Worth Lattimore and Ruby Pearl Hamrick Lattimore. Lib grew up in Lawndale,
NC. She graduated from Piedmont High School in Lawndale in 1947. After high
school she attended Gardner-Webb Junior College in Boiling Springs, NC where
she met her future husband, Haley C. Dedmond, Sr.

Lib worked at Lawndale Drug and then Piedmont School in the cafeteria. She
retired after twenty two years of service in the school cafeterias after
being named manager at Cleveland Jr. High and Burns Jr. High.

Lib married Haley in 1948 in Lawndale, NC. They were happily married for
sixty seven years. Lib was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church in Lawndale
where she faithfully served as Sunday School teacher, youth leader, WMU
director, choir member and various other positions. She enjoyed sewing and
making clothes for her children. She was always seeking ways to serve
others. Her cooking skills were well known and appreciated in Upper
Cleveland County. She and Haley were always among the first to visit the
sick or elderly with a casserole or an Italian cream cake.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Haley
C. Dedmond, Sr.; son, William Donald Dedmond; two brothers, W.F. Lattimore
and Ed Lattimore and one sister, Pearl Lattimore Eubanks.

Lib is survived by her daughter, Jeane Dedmond Adams and husband Guy of
Lawndale; her son, Hal Dedmond and wife Corine Guseman of Lawndale;
daughter-in-law, LaDonna Dedmond of Lawndale; grandchildren, Lee Adams and
wife Gail of Kernersville, Crystal Dedmond of Shelby, Anna Osorio and
husband Thiago of Lawndale, Seth Dedmond of Clover, SC and Rebecca Mosteller
and husband Johnny of Clover, SC; step grandchildren, Kasey Robinson and
husband Josh and Leigh Ann Crawford and husband Cameron; fourteen great
grandchildren; sister, Phyllis Powers of Cherryville and numerous nieces,
nephews, cousins, friends and special caregivers, Darla Wybiral, Vanessa and
Victoria Hampton.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at New Bethel Baptist Church at
3:00PM Sunday with Rev. Tracy Jessup and Dr. Tim Elmore officiating. The
family will be greeting friends preceding the service at the church from
2:00PM until 3:00PM Sunday. At other times the family will gather at the
home of the daughter, Jeane Dedmond Adams in Lawndale.

Burial will follow in New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made to
Catawba Regional Hospice, 3975 Robinson Rd., Newton, NC 28658.
