Elizabeth Prather Griggs, 66, passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia.

Ms. Griggs was born on September 8, 1954 in Fayette, West Virginia a daughter of the late Elmer E. Prather and Edna Scott Prather.

She worked as a waitress at the Pancake house in Lincolnton and Shelby and also worked at Carolina Freight as a custodian.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Lee Griggs; three brothers and one sister.

Survivors include her daughter, Amy Griggs; a granddaughter, Kaylan Camp both of Kings Mountain; two sisters, Louise Bass of West Virginia and Lois Shull of Cherryville and a brother Carl Prather of Ohio.

Visitation will be from 12:45PM to 1:45PM on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Eastwind United Pentecostal Church in Iron Station.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Eastwind United Pentecostal Church with Rev. Mark Fowler and Rev. Jim Gideon officiating.

Burial will follow the service at City Memorial Cemetery in Cherryville.
