Ernestine H. Pace, age 71, of Forest City, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2022 at her residence.
Ernestine was born Saturday, July 28, 1951 in Polk County to the late Jesse James Henderson and Myrtle Lookadoo Henderson. She worked at the Four-Leaf Mill in Spindale and Cone Mills for many years and was a past member of New Beginnings Baptist Church. Ernestine enjoyed playing golf with her late husband, working on puzzles and especially spending time with her family. She was a dedicated wife, mother and caretaker for many in her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of forty-four years, Robert Hampton Pace; brothers, Doyle Henderson, Don Henderson and a sister, Carolyn Dixon.
Left to cherish fond memories are her daughter, Melissa Alley (Jody) and son, Robert Pace III (Alisha) all of Forest City; three brothers, Harvey Henderson (Betty) of Caroleen, Harold Dean Henderson (Marie) of Shiloh and Larry Henderson (La Monda) of Forest City; sisters-in-law, Cathy Henderson of Ellenboro, Alice Ellis (Mike) of Forest City and Patricia Ferguson of Forest City. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Jessica Alley, Robert Joseph Hampton Pace, Millicent Payton Sophia Pace and Austin Hensley (Madison).
The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, October 26th at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Robbie Hensley officiating. Interment will follow at Eternal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
