Cherryville - Mrs. Essie Wood Proctor, 92, of Delview Road, passed away on
Saturday, August 31, 2019 at her residence.

Mrs. Proctor was born on October 16, 1926 in Cleveland County, NC a daughter
of the late Wiley Wood and Ella Hill Wood. She volunteered and worked at
Cherryville Area Ministries in Cherryville for many years and was also a
caregiver.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, George
Pinkney Proctor and three sons, Kenneth, Dennis and Reid Proctor.

Survivors include her daughter, Sherry Proctor of Cherryville; two
grandchildren, Lynn Grinnell of Virginia and Caroline Brown of Lincolnton
and a great grandson, Michael Brown. Also surviving are a number of nieces
and nephews.

Visitation will be from 12:30PM to 1:30PM on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at
Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home and at other times the family will be at the
home.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00PM on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at
City Memorial Cemetery in Cherryville.

Burial will be at City Memorial Cemetery in Cherryville.
