Estelle Martin Vanhorn

MOORESBORO: Estelle Martin Vanhorn, 93, died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018, at Peak Resources of Cherryville. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late John and Minnie Turner Martin. Estelle retired from Doran Textiles, attended Faith Baptist Church, and enjoyed shopping and working in her yard. She loved to bake, cook, and share with her family. She also worked at BJ's Family Care Home, where she was known as "MawMaw" by the residents.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bud Vanhorn; sisters, Vernola Henson and Helen Connor; brother, J.V. Martin; son, Jimmy Queen; daughter, Barbara Williams; and great-grandsons, Matthew Morrow and Adam Queen.

SURVIVED: She is survived by her sons, Ronnie Queen and wife Katherine of Kings Mountain, and Roger Queen and wife Peggy of Mooresboro; daughters, Betty Cooper and husband Larry, and Vickie Davis and husband Wayne, all of Mooresboro; 20 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Molly Greene of Mooresboro.

FUNERAL SERVICES: Funeral services will be held 2pm, Tuesday, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.

OFFICIATING: The Rev. Dr. J. Barry Goodman will officiate.

BURIAL: Burial will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park
