Ethel C. Thurkill, age 88, passed away on Monday, December 28, 2020 at Atrium Health Cleveland. Born in Cleveland County on June 20, 1932 she was the daughter of the late Wylie Clark and Inez Alexander Clark. She was a member of Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church and she loved her family, especially her grandbabies.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Glenn Thurkill and one brother.

Ethel is survived by two children; one son Dennis Thurkill and wife Lynda and their children, Angela Hayman (Ben) and Ashley Ermer (Corey) and one daughter Glenda Huffstickler and husband William and their children, Michelle Jones (Nate) and Michael Huffstickler, one sister Kathy Reeves of Pickins, SC, as well as five great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Brooks, Annabeth Ermer, Lincoln Ermer, Mason Jones and Willow Jones and Ethel's beloved canine companion, Bootsie

A private graveside service will be held at Sunset Cemetery in Shelby with Rev. Roy Byers officiating.
