Ethel Summey, 99, passed away Saturday, July, 22, 2017 at White Oak Manor of Rutherfordton. A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late James Alonzo and Effie Horne Hendrix. She worked at Cone Mills for over 30 years, and was an active member of Race Path Baptist Church before her declining health. She took great pride in doing yard work and working with her flowers.

PRECEDED: in addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, James Ophus Jolley and second husband, John Graham Summey; seven brothers and sisters; and one step-son.

SURVIVORS: She is survived by one daughter, Susan Wilson and husband Steven of Spindale; step-daughters, Jennie Bailey of Gilkey, and Bonnie Tesseneer of Grover; one step-son, Claude Summey of Hickory; a number of grand and great grandchildren; niece, Brenda Campbell; nephews, Jessie and Donnie Hendrix.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends Wednesday July 26, 2017 from 1:30 to 2pm at Race Path Baptist Church.

SERVICES: The funeral service will be Wednesday July 26, 2017 at 2pm at Race Path Baptist Church.

CLERGY: Rev. Randall Cooper and Rev. John Godfrey

INTERNMENT: Cliffside Cemetery
