Evans Lovelace
ELLENBORO - Evans Lovelace, 91, of Pinehurst Road, Ellenboro, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 22, 2012 at SECU Hospice House of Rutherford County. A native of Rutherford County, he was born on September 15, 1921, a son of the late William Samuel and Mary Jones Lovelace. He retired from Dicey Fabric as a Supervisor and was also a United States Army Veteran having served in WWII. He was a member of Joshua Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and a Door Greeter.
 
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Madge Whisnant Lovelace; two brothers, Emmit Lovelace and Ernest Lovelace; one sister, Mildred Jackson. He is survived by his second wife, Bonnie Murray Lovelace; two sons, Steven Lovelace of Morganton and Timothy Gene Lovelace of Spindale; one daughter, Joyce Lovelace Foster of Mooresboro; four stepsons, Doug Murray, Rev. Neil Murray of Ellenboro, Faron Murray of Sunshine, and Robbie Murray of Ellenboro; one brother, Eddie Lovelace of Gaffney; his grandchildren, Angela Butler, Robin Segers, Sally Lovelace, Sarah Lovelace, Samuel Lovelace; one great grandchild, Taylor Butler; numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
 
Funeral services will be held at 2:30pm on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at Joshua Baptist Church of Bostic with the Rev. Neil Murray officiating. Burial will follow at Sandy Run Baptist Church Cemetery, 210 E. Church Street, Mooresboro, NC 28114 with Military Honors accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 25, 2012 from 1:30pm - 2:30pm at Joshua Baptist Church.
 
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Joshua Baptist Church, 590 US Highway 74 Business, Bostic, NC 28018.
