Evelyn Gena Colvin, 75, of Waco, NC, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on December 02, 2020 at her home.

She was born in Cherokee County, NC, daughter of the late Vincent Wayne Truett and Mary Louise Self Truett and was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Walker. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Lora Lynn Walker, a stepson, Joey Colvin, a brother, Landis Wayne Truett, a sister, Martina Truett, one great-grandchild and one great-great grandchild. Evelyn was of the Christian faith and enjoyed all types of worship. She worked in the textile industry for more than twenty years but her heart belonged to her family. She spent many hours washing clothes, canning food and tending to her family. Her love for them knew no bounds. She was a compassionate caregiver to all her loved ones. Evelyn's dedication was always evident to each of her loved ones. She enjoyed gardening and growing beautiful flowers. Evelyn loved to travel and in recent times had taken up Facebook as a way to keep up with her dear family. Her love, kindness and compassion for others will be missed greatly by everyone who knew her.

Step-Children: Charles Colvin Jr. (Barb), Oneida, NY and Linda George (Tony), Canastota, NY

Brothers: Melvin Truett, Floyd Truett (Gloria), Cecil Truett (Linda) and Dale Truett

Sisters: Bonita Loos (Mark) and Brenda Johnson

FUNERAL SERVICE: Saturday, December 5, 2020 at 2:00 PM in the Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel with Reverend Robert Walker officiating

VISITATION: Saturday, December 5, 2020 from 1:00 PM to 1:50 PM prior to the service at Harris Funeral Home

INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery
