Evelyn Louise Patterson Turner passed away at White Oak Manor in Shelby, NC on December 12, 2020.

She was born in Shelby, on June 8, 1931 to the late Bill and Hester Elliott Patterson. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Ben Turner, one brother, Billy Patterson and his wife Ruth, one sister, Effie Sansing and husband, J. M., one son, Benny Turner and a daughter, Lana Jo Ellis.

Evelyn retired from the lab at Cleveland Memorial Hospital and will be remembered as a loving and generous soul to her family and friends and found joy in reading and chocolate.

She is survived by two daughters, Gail Wright (Tom) of Cherryville, Deborah Lackey of Fayetteville, GA. Four grandchildren, Tim Scism (Jennifer) of Shelby, Chris Lackey (Jennifer) of Jasper, GA, Wendy Auten of Shelby, Cherish Fox (Chad) of Shelby. Five great-grandchildren, Krista Goins, Katie Scism, Lauren Scism, Jake Lackey, Tillman Fox. Three great-great-grandchildren, Aylanna, Keylanna, Oaklyn.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at 2:00PM at Pine Grove United Methodist Church, led by the Rev. Marsha Bristow.

The family would like to thank White Oak Manor of Shelby and especially nurse Marcia Hambright for their dedicated and loving care for Evelyn.

It is requested that those in attendance wear face coverings and practice social distancing.
