Evelyn Stinchcomb Hannon

Evelyn Stinchcomb Hannon, 92, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on June 15, 2022 at Testa Family Hospice House in Kings Mountain, NC.

She was born in Rutherford County, NC, daughter of the late William Calvin and Alice Pirkle Stinchcomb and was preceded in death by a daughter, Phyllis Ann Hannon. Evelyn was also preceded in death by 7 siblings, Willimae Hicks, William Curtis Stinchcomb, Otis Clarence Stinchcomb, Inez Blanton, Freddie Eugene Stinchcomb, Naomi Wright, and Shirley Ann Boggus.

She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church and worked in textiles most of her life. Evelyn was also the owner and operator of her own beauty shop for several years. She enjoyed staying active and was an accomplished artist who loved to draw and paint. She was very intelligent and an avid reader who never missed reading her bible everyday. She possessed a green thumb and loved growing beautiful flowers and watching the birds outside of her home. Evelyn was an old school soul, quirky and funny, who did not mind saying what she was thinking. Her humor, love, and friendship will be missed dearly by everyone who knew and loved her.

SURVIVORS: Children: Wanda White, Kings Mountain, NC, Susan Belt, Vass, NC, Fred J. Hannon Jr. (Velvet), Blacksburg, SC, and Boyd Hannon (Sandra Waddell), Gaffney, SC

Brother: Jimmy Stinchcomb, Fallston, NC

Grandchildren: Christy Bridges, Kimberly Malone, Mindy Belt, Stephanie Keltner (Brad), and Christopher Bradley Hannon

Great Grandchildren: Luke and Keri Malone, Anderson Belt, and Kentlee Keltner

GRAVESIDE SERVICE: Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Cleveland Memorial Park with Reverend Ron Caulder officiating

VISITATION: The family will speak with attendees immediately following the service at the graveside

INTERMENT: Cleveland Memorial Park, Shelby, NC
