Farmer Foodshare® Challenge aims to raise funds to purchase food throughout season
The Foothills Farmers' Market announces the Farmer Foodshare Challenge "Preserve the Season". Visit the Donation Table at the Uptown Shelby and Kings Mountain Markets, learn more about Farmer Foodshare and how the program is impacting our community. Make a cash donation which will be used to purchase food from farmers at the Market throughout the season. Donations will help carry FFS through to the end of season when cash donations are typically down.
You can help provide fresh food for the hungry and support local farmers by visiting the Farmer Foodshare Donation Station Table at the Foothills Farmers' Market each Saturday in Uptown Shelby between 8am - 12noon.
Farmer Foodshare volunteers raise local funds at the market to buy top-quality fresh local food for people at risk for hunger. Market shoppers buy food from farmers and donate it, or give cash and volunteers buy food. Farmers donate excess food at the end of market days, which ensures that nothing goes to waste. Produce from home gardens is welcomed as well.  Food donations are given to local organizations that feed people.
