Foothills Farmers’ Market Grows To Meet Demand For Local Food
Dustin Smith of Country Produce in Belwood provides fresh, locally grown produce to shoppers on Saturday morning in downtown Kings Mountain.
The local food movement continues to grow, and with it, the Foothills Farmers’ Market.  A satellite market location is now operating in Kings Mountain on Railroad St. every Saturday from 8am until 12noon. When you shop at the Foothills Farmers’ Markets you can be certain your produce is grown within 50 miles of Cleveland County, guaranteed. The markets offer a variety of in-season produce, handcrafted items, wine, natural handmade body care products, meat, fresh cut flowers, poultry and dairy - all produced locally. The friendly farmers and vendors are always willing to inform about their products. Come on out and get to know who grows your food. Visit the Uptown Shelby Farmers’ Market on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8am until 12noon; and The Cleveland County Health Department satellite each Tuesday from 8am until 12noon.
