Foothills Merry Go Round Festival April 27-28
It’s time again for the 16th Annual Foothills Merry Go Round Festival!  Once again, 2 days of carnival fun at the Shelby City Park on April 27-28
 Saturday is the big day!  The Shelby City Park opens at 11am with rides, inflatable bounce arounds, live entertainment, children’s activities and games and fun for all.  Purchase your $5 arm band at the gate and off you go to enjoy the day.
 Get an early start on the day. The Royster Memorial Golf Course will welcome golfers for the Merry Go Round Golf Tournament at 9am.
 Big rides this year include the Zipper, Hurricane, Yo Yo and more.  Bumper cars and smaller rides are available for smaller children.  The famous, restored 1919 all wooden carrousel will be running as well at the Rotary train.
 At 1 pm the Academy of Performing Arts will perform in the gymnasium.  Spectators can enjoy just the dancers for $3 or purchase an armband for the entire day of festivities in the park for $5.
 FREE Entertainment will feature the magical talent of Captain Jim.  He tells his tales, from a shipwreck that resulted in the loss of his leg to stumbling into a new career. He inspires and motivates all who he encounters creating wonderful memories. Captain Jim will be performing on the midway with juggling acts, magic and general mayhem.
 The big show will be RollOver Pets sponsored K-9’s in Flight. John Misita's K9s in Flight are the premier K9 Sports entertainers in the world! With over 15 years of professional experience, they have dazzled audiences all across America and beyond.

Whether it's their Top NFL, NBA or Arena Football Halftime Show or their dynamic Theme Park or State Fair Ground Act production, K9s in Flight is guaranteed to give you High Flying Fun the Whole Family will enjoy!!
What’s going on Uptown on Saturday?  The juried art show, Art on the Square, will open at 9am and showcase artists of all kinds from around the region.  Our local farmers will be open for business for the Season Opening of the Foothills Farmers Market beginning at 8 am.  They have the best of Cleveland County to offer with this certified locally grown and guaranteed fresh market.  A European Car Show brings hundreds to Uptown to view new and antique cars.
 Shuttle buses will run in 30 minute increments from the Shelby City Park to: Uptown Shelby, Shelby Middle School parking on Sumter Street, and from the City Park to Uptown Shelby Court Square on both days.
 A grand finale Fireworks display at the Shelby City Park will mark the end of the kick off day of this fabulous festival around 9:00 pm.
On Sunday, join us for another full day of fun.  All the live entertainment and carnival activities will be going full blast from 1 – 7 pm for the second big day.  Ruby Hunt Y Gymnastics Team will perform in the gym at 1:00 and a huge ZUMBA Mania party will begin at 2:00 pm.
