Frances Cartee Padgett, age 86 of Shelby, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 6, 2023.

She is survived by her two sons, Scott Padgett of Shelby, NC, and Tim Padgett (Denise) of Lawndale, NC, three grandchildren, Christopher Padgett (Nathan) of Greenville, SC, Heather Poston (Tyler) of Lawndale, NC, and Zachary Padgett (Amy) of Lincolnton, NC, five great grandchildren, Cheyenne Padgett, Christopher Kale Padgett, Rylan Poston, Scarlett Poston, and Sawyer Padgett, three sisters, Grace Ramsey of Hickory, NC, Doris Hubbard of Pensacola, FL, and Hazel Hall of Gassaway, WV, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Born June 18, 1936, in Rutherford County, NC, Frances was the daughter of the late Grady Columbus Cartee and Alma Scruggs Cartee and was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Hubert Henry Padgett, four brothers, Eules Cartee, Wyatt Cartee, Broadus Cartee, and Walter Cartee, and three sisters, Lula Mode, Mildred Davidson, and Virginia George.

Frances was a faithful member of Landmark Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister. Frances enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling, including the trips with her sisters to various locations.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at Landmark Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Alan Davis. Receiving of friends will be one hour prior beginning at 12:00pm at the church. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park.
