Frances Sarah Jane Pettis Lee

Frances Sarah Jane Pettis Lee 93 was born in Gaston County on December 19, 1932 to the late William and Gertrude Wilson Pettis.

She peacefully entered into eternal rest on June 6, 2026 at White Oak Manor Rehabilitation Center.

Frances was baptized at the age of twelve at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church by Rev. Meeks in Gaston County. In 1949, she married the late Charlie Evans Lee.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents; husband Charlie Evans Lee; two children Charles Lee and Glenda L. Haynes; brothers Edward Pettis, Lewis, Pettis, Johnny Pettis, LW (Dub) Pettis, and William Pettis Jr.; and son-in-law Rev. Thurston Jackson.

She leaves a legacy of love and treasured memories with her children, Mary (Russell) Meeks of Shelby, Helen (Thomas) Houze of Grover, Larry Lee of the home, and Wanda Jackson of Boiling Springs, SC; nine grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren; siblings Rev. Isaac Pettis, Carrie Pettis, Elder Matthew (Debbie) Pettis, Mattie Nelson, Laura (William) Matthews; sisters-in-law Willie Lou Pettis, Sarah Pettis, Jesse Parrish, and Carol Woodard; brother-in-law Samuel (Brenda) Lee; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and family friends.

Funeral services were be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Eskridge Grove Baptist Church. Burial will took place at the church cemetery.
