Francis Donald Melton, 80 of Johnson Road, Shelby passed away, Thursday at
Carolinas Healthcare System- Cleveland.

Born September 28, 1937 in Kentucky, he was a son of the late Oscar Melton
and Cora Newton Melton. He was retired from Sears and Wilson's Barber
Shop. Mr. Melton was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and served in
the US Airforce.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Vicky C.
Melton; two brothers, Lennie Melton and Ronald Melton and a sister, Loenell
Shipp.

Survivors include a son, Brian Melton of Shelby; two brothers, Arvin Melton
and wife, Edris of Shelby and Carl Melton and wife, Joyce of Charlotte;
several nieces and nephews and special friend, Peggy Wright of Shelby.

Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM, Saturday at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral
Home.

A graveside service will be at 2:00 PM, Sunday at Elizabeth Baptist Church
Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Cleveland Volunteer Fire
Department, 221 E. Graham Street, Shelby, NC 28150
