Mr. Frank Julion “Joe Bud” Shade, 58, departed this life on Monday, October 15, 2012, at Carolinas Medical Center, in Charlotte, NC. A native of Cleveland County, he is the son of Jessie Shade Eskridge of Shelby and the late F.J. Barnes.
“Joe Bud”, as he was called by many, attended Shelby High School. He was a U.S. States Army veteran serving two years before being honorably discharged. He worked many different jobs over the course of his life. An out-spoken carefree person, he enjoyed playing drums and drawing.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Sam Eskridge and his maternal grandparents, John Henry and Beatrice Bennett Shade.
He is survived by his wife, Shelia Davis Shade; his mother, Jessie Eskridge of Shelby; a son, Julion Shade of Philadelphia, PA; two daughters, Rainna Foster of Africa and Davonda Ross (Willie) of Shelby; three sisters, Lorraine Shade, Dorothy Osborne and Barbara Barnes all of Shelby; seven grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 22, 2012 at 3:00 PM at S.T. Enloe Memorial Chapel with Bishop Randy Borders officiating. Burial will take place at Webb Memorial Lawns. The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 3:00 PM at the chapel and at other times at the home of his mother, Jessie Eskridge, 523 East Marion Street, Shelby.
